Redhill MRT Station
I love hotels. To stay in or worked in. But i guessed.... stay in more ba.... HAHA... I onced told myself that i want to go ard the world and worked in different hotels.
For those whom i have mentioned before, i worked in a hotel before....for a total of 2months.
Soon after i graduated from Poly. My first "supposed to be permanent job" was as a Front Desk Assistant in Concorde Hotel (now known as Holiday Inn). The pay was miserable. Haha.... Ard $1093 per mth. But still i took up the offer cause i was......erm.....young. Haha....I actually give up a job at the National Arts COuncil for this! Can you believe it?
It was pretty tough. I have to cope with the irregular shifts, nasty seniors, long travelling time, overwhelming stuff to learn.
That time, i was eager to learn. In 2 of my trainers eyes, i was a bright student and i picked up stuff pretty fast. But it was difficult when i get to check in guests. There are soooo many things to learn and remember. How to search for rooms lah, how to make a reservation lah, how to please guests lah, how to answer to guests queries lah.........
I think i am new so they gave me afternoon shift most of the time. Its from 3 to 11pm. Sianz rite! I prefer morning shift. 7-3pm. But i dont get to leave on the dot. Cause preparations had to be made for the next day's arrivals. I will be lucky if i get to leave by 6pm. Only 1 off day per wk. "u must be kidding me"
Concorde Hotel is nearest to Tiong Bahru Mrt Station. When i go to work, i will take train to Tiong Bahru Mrt and take a bus. When i go back home, i will take a bus to Redhill MRT station and then train from there. There is a long stretch from the bus stop to Redhill MRT and if i am not afternoon shift, i usually have to ran thru the long stretch to catch the last train. That is if i am luck enough.
Oh, meals are provided in the hotel. Haha. 3 Dishes and a soup plus dessert. There are days where ice cream is provided too! Which i think is a good deal! :) Haha but the food wasnt really that fanastatic lah.
Makeup is required ok! BUt i nvr really put on any.... i alwys managed to fool everyone i think lah..... Haha. Beacuse of working here, i get to learn how to bun up my hair professionally ok! Haha.... Heels everyday plus stockings. My mum onced asked "they think your legs not nice ah" :p pls lah Mum!
There was one malay girl who was pretty nasty to me. She was like trying to tell me that "she's my senior" .... PLS COME ON!
People always leave for the greener pasture. I think i left beacuse i couldnt take it that time. Its not that i am not happy with what i have now. I am alwys happy and grateful with wat i have. (ask emme, she will know! haha...)
its just that................
I think ............i miss my dream.........
