Log Book

I was told that I have to sign in and out a log book when I report for work and knock off from work everyday. It was surprising to me about this signing thingy because the clerks (now called admin assistants) have been doing it for quite a while until they decided to abolish it awhile back. However, they decided bring this idea back and now to include the EAs as well. The reason they gave was that they wanted to standarised this procedure as other divisions have been doing it.

Thank goodness, when I sort of resigned to my fact that I will performing this humiliating and embarrassing signing in and out thingy, I was told to hold on first because they would saving attempt to be done first as this has never happened before to the EAs.

This is not fair to us. Or rather, to those who makes attempts to report to work early. We are not kids. We don't need attempts like this to monitor our punctuality. Probably, most people have been taking advantage of the situation and report to work the time you can make it instead of reporting to work the time they have to make it.

Anyways, when people sign in their time, I was told that you don't have to sign in the exact time you arrive. In fact, you write the time that is to your advantage. You can minus off at least 5mins. Like , if you come at 8.15, I was told that you could write 8.10 instead. So, you see, what's all the fuss of signing in and out when this is all just an act.

Want a stricter and more accurate measure, how about punching card? Whatever time you punch in, that will be the time reflected on the card. Well, before that, it must be imposed that no helping of other colleagues to punch their cards.

I have to say, this signing in and out act is yet another demoralising act to me.
For one perfect reason, I didn't slog through my 3years of polytechnic and 2 and ahalf years of degree to come sign in and sign out.

Another week will begin tomorrow. Have to see what new and happening will unfold itself.
