The scene outside our room window. Imagine waking up to snow! How bless was that.

The best trip I have ever had. Norway and Italy in March.
When I told people that I am visiting Norway and Italy, they are pretty puzzled as to why these 2 places cause they are quite far apart from each other. Usually people who choose Italy, France or Switzerland.
Emmeline is in Italy so Milan is a MUST. So is Rome. If you didn't visit Rome, you just simply can't tell anyone that you have visited Italy. Italy will be in the coming entry.
Norway is for Northern Lights. For that, we had to travelled all the way up to
Tromso. But alas, it's a trip that I would encourage everyone to embark on at least once in a life time, the quest for Northern Lights. Please don't get intimidated by the word "Norway" and that would be = to Expensive. We did things the budget way. Reasonably budget and we had the greatest time.

A beautiful dog and the good looking owner at Tromso Airport. I LOVE TROMSO! :p

Winter
Tromso simply took my breathe away and there wasn't any pinch of exaggeration at all.
Every corner I turned was a postcard scene.

This is the only time when camera has lost it's purpose because all I wanted is to capture the night view of Tromso in my mind more than anything else.

Don't I see this from the travel magazine.

This is classified as a highly hazedous path because we all each, slipped a couple of times here.

This day was snowing!
Right from the plane, when we were about to land
Tromso airport, we caught a
blurish glimpse of the Northern Lights! The snow scene from the plane had me feeling like a kid seeing snow for the first time. Yes. for the first time, I am witnessing and feeling and touching snow.It was just like the way how Enid
Blyton stories are told. Beautiful is not even enough to describe it.
The best time for Northern Lights is from 9pm to 12am. It all depends on your luck. It's a period of waiting and waiting and waiting in the cold. The 1st night of our quest, we walked through snow,
LOTsss of SNOW to the lake where we were told that over there has a fair chance of witnessing the lights as that was one of the darkest location. The point is, you need ti find a dark location with no lights to be able to have the lights much visible to you. The route was long and quiet. There was hardly anyone other than us in the midst of the snow field!
It was fun walking in the snow.
Xiao Hui, I believe had a great time falling and slipping and I couldn't stop laughing. We didn't stayed long enough because it was just simply too freaking cold to be out. But the fortunate thing is, we managed to catch it on our way back to the hotel. On the streets! Ruby and I couldn't stop screaming.
In order to maximise our chances of witnessing the natural
phenomena, we took a cruise out to the dark sea to booast our chances on the lights. But fate has it, we didn't had much of the luck that night if not, it would be terrific because out at sea was pitch dark. The best "lighting" for the lights.
On the bus trip to the harbour to board the cruise

Enid Blyton comes alive

3 course meal on board
We signed up for snow shoe trekking which gave us the chance to "run" freely in the snow. Every where we turned are mountains and mountains covered with snow.
